Nokia 3.2 is receiving the Android 10 update, the news was shared by Nokia Mobile on their Twitter account. Nokia had revised roadmap for Android 10 updates recently, so other devices would get updates in the due course of the time.

The major drawback of expensive Android devices was that manufacturers could not be able to support devices generally after one, two or maximum three major operating system updates. But this has been not the case with HMD Global. Which has been stick to its promise of ‘Pure and Secure Android’ since its anticipation.

It packs new features including new system navigation, settings menu, and notifications, Adaptive Battery power prioritization for user’s most commonly used apps/services, Adaptive and optimized brightness levels, Predictive Application Actions, Google Security Patch 2019-01.

The update for Nokia 3.2 would be rolled out in batches, it boasts of version V2.270 and having 1.3GB size. It features new UI, and updates firmware to the March security patch. Highlighted features include Dark Mode, Smart Reply, improved location and privacy, and improved navigation gestures.

Steps to Manually Update Nokia 3.2 TA-1156, TA-1159, TA-1164/ TA-1053 to Android 10 OTA Stock Firmware

Pre-Requisites

Ensure to check your model number, which must be:

• Nokia 3.2 TA-1156, TA-1159, TA-1164

You must have to ensure that before rooting your phone, you have read thoroughly the disclaimer and you agree to proceed further on your risk.

• Phone Should be Charged

Your phone must be 70% charged at least, else, it may lead to complications sometimes while experimenting. Why take the risk, try to charge it fully.

• Back-Up

If you are either going to root your phone or install a Custom ROM, it is a good habit to make a back up of your phone. Make a back up of all your media like images, videos and all on your PC and your contacts on Cloud.

Method 1- Through the Dialer/ Phone App:

Step 1: We assume that you have downloaded the OTA Zip from the pre-requisite section, and then proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Now, connect Nokia 3.2 TA-1156, TA-1159, TA-1164 device to the computer and copy and paste the OTA Zip file to the root/ internal storage.

Step 3: Then, open dialer/ Phone app and dial the number

Method 2- ADB Fastboot:

Pre-Requisites

Download Universal ADB Drivers here (If your PC have already drivers installed then skip this)

Download platform-tools/ SDK Tools package from Android SDK on PC from here. (Android command line tools> SDK Tools package)

Step 1: Assuming you have already downloaded the platform-tools from Android SDK (SDK Manager) platform-tools on your PC. The platform-tools contains the required ADB and fastboot binaries.

Step 2: Now, copy and paste the OTA Zip file to the folder where you have stored the ADB/ Fastboot files.

Step 3: Now, open the command prompt in computer/ ADB Terminal, and simply type the command:

adb devices

The device ID would be displayed after running this command, which verifies that the connection between the device and the PC has been established successfully.

Step 4: Next, its time to boot the device into fastboot mode. Boot your device into the fastboot mode by running this command in the command prompt:

ADB reboot bootloader

Step 5: Now, its turn to sideload the OTA zip file into the Nokia 3.2 TA-1156, TA-1159, TA-1164 device:

adb sideload path_to_zip/xxxxxxxxxxxxx.zip 

Step 6: Now, tap the back button to return to the recovery menu. When the option appears, simply tap on the button “Reboot system now”.
